Land at Miami International Airport and you can
be in Islamorada in about an hour and a half by renting a car or climbing aboard a shuttle bus. You can also fly into Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which adds at most an hour of
driving time to the Islamorada trip. You might also consider flying into the Florida Keys Marathon Airport via Florida Coastal Airlines (888-435-9322), which has regular service. Two charter airlines also serve
Marathon: SeaCoast Airlines (866-302-6278) and Paradise Air (305-743-4222). The Marathon airport is just a 45-minute drive
from Islamorada. Rental cars and shuttle services are available. General aviation enthusiasts and corporate jet owners will also find all the
services they need at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport. Here, you’ll find two full-service F.B.O.s with both jet and
aviation fuels, maintenance, tie down, pilot and passenger facilities.
By Land
If you're driving from Miami International Airport, take LeJeune Road south to 836 West. Take the Florida
Turnpike south toward Key West. The Turnpike ends at US 1 in Florida City. Follow U.S. 1 south to the Keys.
From
Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, exit the airport and follow the signs for 595 West. Take 595 to the
Florida Turnpike and follow the signs for the Florida Keys.
From the north, take the Florida Turnpike
south and follow the signs for Homestead and Key West. The Florida Turnpike ends at US 1 in Florida City. Follow U.S. 1 south
into the Florida Keys.
From Florida's west coast, take 1-75 Alligator Alley east to the Miami
exit, and south to the Florida Turnpike. |
